The challenge

Australia enforces some of the strictest biosecurity standards in the world. The operator needed the four components decontaminated and certified to Australian Quarantine (DAFF) requirements, sequenced from storage to wash and fumigation to port without missing the Hoegh sailing window, and packed on flat rack and mafi equipment engineered for outsized steel structures.

The set totaled 115,780 kg and 381.76 cubic meters, including a 38,636 kg substructure and a 31,000 kg mast section. Ocean freight, customs and biosecurity clearance and door delivery in Australia all had to close with zero compliance issues.

What we did

Local trucking and transfers

Transport from the storage facility to an approved pressure-wash yard, then to JAXPORT.

Full pressure wash

High-pressure cleaning of soil and organic matter to the Australian standard, including undercarriage, cavities and trap points, repeated until each unit met the visibly clean and dry standard.

Certified fumigation

DAFF-acceptable treatment with provider certifications and records tied to each unit ID.

Export packing

Flat rack and mafi containerization with engineered blocking, bracing and lashing to remove metal-to-metal chafe points.

Ocean freight

Booked with Hoegh, with terminal receiving, cutoffs and the load plan coordinated at JAXPORT.

Customs and biosecurity

Complete documentation for US export and Australian import: cleaning attestations, fumigation certificates, packing declarations and accurate HS coding.

Final delivery

Door transport in Australia with proof packs for the client's records.

Results

Zero holds for biosecurity contamination at destination. All four components passed DAFF inspection on first presentation, met the sailing cutoff at JAXPORT and arrived in Brisbane damage-free thanks to engineered securing and stow plans.

Customs and DAFF cleared on a complete document package, followed by on-time door delivery to the construction site in Brisbane with consolidated close-out reporting.
