THE CHALLENGE

What they were up against.

Australia enforces some of the world's strictest biosecurity standards. The client needed a partner who could decontaminate and certify four large rig components to meet Australian Quarantine (DAFF) requirements, sequence transport from storage to wash/fumigation to port without missing the Hoegh sailing window, and engineer export packing on flat-rack/mafi for outsized steel structures.

The four components totaled 115,780 kg and 381.76 CBM — including a 38,636 kg substructure and a 31,000 kg mast section. End-to-end management was required: ocean freight, customs/biosecurity clearance, and door delivery in Australia with zero compliance issues.

THE SOLUTION

How Total Connection solved it.

Local Trucking & Transfers: Coordinated transport from storage facility to approved pressure-wash yard, then to JAXPORT.

Full Pressure Wash: High-pressure cleaning to remove soil and organic matter per Australian biosecurity standards — including undercarriage, cavities, and trap points. Repeat wash/inspection cycles until "visibly clean & dry" standard met.

Certified Fumigation: DAFF-acceptable treatment with provider certifications and treatment records tied to each unit ID.

Export Packing: Flat-rack/mafi containerization with engineered blocking, bracing, and lashing to eliminate metal-to-metal chafe points.

Ocean Freight: Booked with Hoegh carrier, coordinated terminal receiving, cutoffs, and load plan at JAXPORT.

Customs & Biosecurity: Complete documentation package for U.S. export and Australian import — cleaning attestations, fumigation certificates, packing declarations, and accurate HS coding.

Final Delivery: Door transport in Australia with complete proof packs for client records.

THE RESULTS

What changed.

Zero holds for biosecurity contamination at destination — all four components passed DAFF inspection on first presentation.

Met sailing cutoff and avoided costly rehandling at JAXPORT terminal. Damage-free arrival in Brisbane thanks to engineered securing and stow plans.

Frictionless import: customs and DAFF cleared with complete documentation package including pressure-wash logs, fumigation certificates, packing declarations, export documents, and Australian import entries.

Timely door delivery to the construction site in Brisbane with complete proof packs and consolidated close-out reporting.

WHAT THEY SAID
Australia's quarantine rules are unforgiving — one speck of soil can stall an entire project. This case shows Total Connection's ability to navigate stringent biosecurity regimes with meticulous cleaning and documentation.
