THE CHALLENGE

What they were up against.

The client needed a complete end-to-end solution for mobilizing and exporting a used 1500 HP land rig. The project included precise measurement and verification of all rig components during disassembly at the Oklahoma refurbishing facility, engineering the logistics flow to stage refurbishment, coordinate road transport, and meet strict ocean vessel loading deadlines.

Heavy-haul complexity with oversize/overweight components — the heaviest piece weighed 90,000 lbs and the longest measured 70 feet. Special permits and crane coordination were required at every stage. Vessel stowage planning had to ensure the entire 68-package set was secured for an international voyage across the Atlantic.

THE SOLUTION

How Total Connection solved it.

Measurement & Quoting: Field engineers verified dimensions and weights for accurate permitting and trucking assignments across all 68 assemblies.

Permit & Equipment Procurement: Secured specialized trailers and crane assets for both origin in Oklahoma and port operations in Houston.

Sequenced Trucking: Coordinated 68 loads to arrive in time for Houston export scheduling, with critical sequencing so refurbishment crews received exactly what they needed.

Terminal Operations: Coordinated with stevedores and vessel crew during multi-day load-out at WATCO Terminal Houston using dual 150T cranes.

Marine Survey & Vessel Coordination: Worked with marine surveyors to certify loading, stowage, and securing for Atlantic crossing.

Live Project Control: Provided continuous communication and updates from dispatch hubs throughout the entire operation.

THE RESULTS

What changed.

Complete set of 68 packages delivered on time, in full, and staged for international shipment aboard M/V Industrial Courage.

Marine surveyors validated that securing met or exceeded industry standards using 8-10 ton chains, nylon webbing, and dunnage.

Zero incidents during rig-down, trucking, or vessel load-out despite sub-freezing temperatures, high winds, and rain.

Seamless transition from refurbishment yard to trucking to WATCO Terminal Houston to ocean carrier, with arrival in Salvador, Brazil after 20+ days of ocean transit.
