What an NVOCC does for a shipper

A non-vessel operating common carrier contracts ocean space from the vessel lines and resells it under its own bill of lading, taking carrier responsibility for the shipment. Combined with freight forwarding, that puts booking, documentation, inland legs and accountability with one licensed company.
